Veneers

Veneer is a thin sheet of wood, typically 0.5 mm thick, obtained by slicing or peeling a log and glued onto substrates like MDF, chipboard, or plywood through the veneering process. This method optimizes wood usage, with 1 m² of solid wood equivalent to 50 m² of veneer. To achieve color, the natural veneer is bleached, purified, and dyed in a non-toxic, anti-termite manner, with enhanced chemical and physical properties. Multilaminar veneer (MW) is made up of multiple thin layers of different wood species, which are individually colored and then assembled to create solid wood, offering benefits like color uniformity and environmental sustainability. Tabu’s complete collection of veneers is housed in the Red Box 555, which received the Honorable Mention of the Compasso d’Oro by ADI.
